Why Videx GSM?

We install one intercom system: the Videx GSM keypad with single call button. We don't offer a confusing menu of 15 brands — we install the one we'd put on our own gates.

What the Videx GSM System Does

  • Keypad entry: Enter a code to open the gate — no need for a remote
  • Call button: Press to call your phone directly via the mobile network
  • App control: Open the gate from your phone, anywhere in the world
  • No wiring to the house: Uses a SIM card, so there's no need to run cables from the gate to the property — ideal for long driveways
  • Multiple user codes: Set different codes for family, cleaners, deliveries
  • Temporary codes: Create one-time codes for visitors or tradespeople

Why Not Other Brands?

Our engineers have installed and serviced intercoms from multiple manufacturers over 15+ years. The Videx GSM is the system we recommend because:

  • It's reliable in the Sussex/Surrey/Kent climate
  • It doesn't depend on Wi-Fi (uses the mobile network instead)
  • Parts and support are readily available in the UK
  • It integrates cleanly with CAME, BFT, Nice, and FAAC gate motors
  • It's simple for homeowners to use without a manual

Intercom Repair

Already have an intercom that's not working? We repair most common intercom faults:

  • No audio / crackling: Handset or wiring fault
  • Call button doesn't ring: SIM issue, programming, or wiring
  • Keypad not responding: Power supply, damaged keypad, or control board
  • Gate opens from keypad but not from phone: SIM or GSM signal issue
  • Intermittent operation: Often a wiring or connection fault, especially after weather exposure

Intercom repair is covered under the standard repair callout: £225+VAT.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an intercom if I already have remotes?

Not necessarily — but an intercom adds convenience and security. Remotes only work for people who have one. An intercom lets anyone at the gate call you and request entry, and lets you grant or deny access from your phone. It's especially useful for deliveries, visitors, and tradespeople.

Will the Videx work with my existing gate motor?

Yes. The Videx GSM integrates with all major gate motor brands including CAME, BFT, Nice, and FAAC. Your engineer will wire it into your existing control board during installation.

What happens if there's no mobile signal at my gate?

Your engineer tests signal strength during the survey. In most of Sussex, Surrey, and Kent, GSM coverage is adequate. If signal is weak at the gate post, an external antenna can be fitted to boost reception. In rare cases where there's genuinely no mobile signal, a wired alternative may be more appropriate — we'll advise.

Can I add an intercom to a gate that doesn't have one?

Yes, that's the most common installation. The Videx GSM keypad mounts on or near the gate post and connects to the existing gate motor's control board. No cables need to run to the house.

How long does installation take?

Typically half a day (3-4 hours) including programming, testing, and the user walkthrough.
